I planned this hybrid event from start to finish (along with the poster and deck you see on this page) to re-energize St. Cloud State's (SCSU) College of Science and Engineering (COSE) students during the pandemic and help them "re-start strong" in the Spring 2022 semester after the slump we saw in fall semester class attendance the with about 50% students skipping class more than once. This event was one of the most successful events COSE had seen with an attendance of 20+ students in-person and online after the SCSU campus cautiously reopened for in-person classes. Over 90% of the participants indicated that they found the session to be helpful as collected through the data in a post-session survey that I administered to evaluate the effectiveness of this event.
Goals/Objective:
Identify the challenges that are facing our participants as they are returning back to taking classes in-person.
Engage participants in taking charge of their study habits.
Educate participants on how to prepare of tests and how to manage asynchronous classes.
Learning Outcomes:
Participants were able to learn study techniques to increase thier productivity.
Participants were able to identify difference in their learning style and expectations of their faculty.
Participants were able to takeaway at least one campus resource to aid them in their learning.

Come some spend some time with your fellow COSE friends on how to "restart" your Spring 2022 semester from your peers and an ACTUAL COSE Professor all while enjoying some FREE PIZZA!! They will be sharing INSIDER TIPS on topics like "How NOT to put off an online class assignment until 11:58 pm the night it's due", "Does tutoring actually help? Are tutors just super humans or are they REAL students TOO?!", "How does my professor expect me to study for a midterm?" and more!
